Pune: In a significant move to resolve family disputes and foster reconciliation among parties, the District Legal Services Authority has launched the "Sukoon" initiative at the Family Court.
This program aims to reduce animosity and estrangement between individuals involved in family disputes. Under this initiative, all pending family dispute cases across various courts in Pune district will be referred to the "Sukoon" center for resolution.
The counseling services will be provided free of charge to all parties. The center will operate on office working days every Monday and Thursday from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
The "Sukoon" initiative is a collaborative effort of the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority, the Mumbai High Court, and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
Bharti Dongre and Revati Mohite-Dere, two judges from the Mumbai High Court, recently launched the initiative. The Chief Judge of the Family Court, Manisha Kale, and Sonal Patil, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, were also present at the event, which was organized under the guidance of Principal District Judge Narendra Mahajan of the District Court.
At the "Sukoon" center, parties will receive counseling from experts and trained professionals who will strive to resolve ongoing disputes and restore family relationships amicably.
The counseling sessions will remain confidential, ensuring that no information is used in judicial proceedings, nor will it be subject to the Right to Information Act.
Importantly, the counseling services will be provided free of charge to all parties. The center will operate on office working days every Monday and Thursday from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
