Pune: Sunil Tingre, the Mahayuti candidate from Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), filed his nomination for the Wadgaon Sheri Assembly constituency on Monday (October 28) with a grand rally, drawing significant community support.

The event began at the Bhairavnath Maharaj temple in Dhanori, where Tingre sought blessings, and continued with a tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj before embarking on a motorcycle rally that passed through Dhanori, Vishrantwadi, and Nagpur Chawl Road in Yerawada.

The rally concluded at the election office, where Tingre submitted his nomination to Election Officer Sachin Baravkar. Supporters from across the constituency joined the rally.

Notable attendees included NCP city president Deepak Mankar, Shiv Sena city chief Nana Bhangire, Neha Shinde, NCP city vice president Narayan Galande, former corporators Satish Mhaske and Sunita Galande, along with Sandeep Jarad, Usha Kalamkar, Meenal Sarode, Pandurang Khese, Bandu Khandve, Chandrakant Tingre, Shashi Anna Tingre, Sunil Jadhav, Shankar Sangam, Prakash Bhalerao, Pradeep Deshmukh, Datta Sagar, and others, showing strong solidarity for Tingre’s campaign.

Highlighting the development agenda as a central theme of his campaign, Tingre said, “The Mahayuti government has introduced numerous initiatives for farmers and women across the state.

The Majhi Ladki Behan scheme has greatly benefited many women, and substantial funding has been allocated for urban development. We will fight this election on the basis of development.”

Recently, Tingre has claimed that no MLA before him has managed to bring as much funding to the constituency as he has. Tingre had expressed confidence that voters would recognize this and cast their votes based on the progress and development achieved during his tenure.
