Talegaon Dabhade Gunfire: 3 suspects from rival gangs paraded by police

Pune: In a recent incident highlighting gang rivalry, gunfire erupted in Talegaon Dabhade, Pune, causing widespread panic. The Anti-Gang Squad of Pimpri-Chinchwad has successfully arrested three individuals involved in the incident, seizing three pistols and eight live cartridges from their possession. Additionally, in two separate operations, authorities confiscated a total of seven pistols and fourteen live cartridges.

On June 20, at around 8:30 PM, the Chikya Shinde gang caused a disturbance in Talegaon Dabhade by firing shots into the air. Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident.

The event created panic in areas like Hanuman Mandir Chowk, Gajanan Maharaj Chowk, Maruti Chowk, Rajendra Chowk, Shala Chowk, and Ganpati Chowk in Talegaon.

The arrested habitual offenders have been identified as gang leader Rohan alias Chikya Uttam Shinde, Neeraj alias Dadya Babu Pawar, and Aditya Nitin Bhainallu. This incident adds to a history of law and order challenges in the area, underscoring the need for stringent security measures.

According to the police, there are frequent disputes between the Baba Thakur gang and the Chikya Shinde gang over dominance. On the evening of June 20, a showdown was called in a square to test the strength of each gang. However, the Baba Thakur gang did not show up.

Members of the Chikya Shinde gang arrived on two motorcycles, spreading terror and firing four to five rounds into the air at various locations. This created widespread panic in Talegaon Dabhade, with citizens living in fear. The Anti-Gang Squad has now arrested three members of this gang. Chikya Shinde is also facing charges in a murder case.
