Taljai Hill Robbery Plan Foiled, Two Arrested

Police had been tracking the duo since June when they managed to evade capture during previous operation that led to the arrest of their accomplices.

Pune: The Sahakarnagar police have successfully apprehended two individuals who were preparing to rob citizens visiting the Taljai Hill area.

The arrested suspects, identified as Ganesh Anant Kathawate (23) and Amit Babu Dhaware (26), residents of Annabhau Sathe Colony in Aranyeshwar, were caught after a police operation based on specific intelligence.

The police had been tracking the duo since June when they managed to evade capture during a previous operation that led to the arrest of their accomplices.

Kathawate was eventually apprehended by officers Amol Pawar and Kiran Kamble in the Lake Town Society area of Bibwewadi, while Dhaware was caught later when he visited his family in Aranyeshwar.

The operation was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Smarthana Patil and Assistant Commissioner Nandini Vagyani-Paraje, with support from other key officers.

Man Attacked with Sickle After Dispute Over Motorcycle in Kurkundi

A young man from Kurkundi village in Taluka Khed was severely injured after being attacked with a sickle following a dispute over his motorcycle being knocked over. The incident took place on Sunday evening near Vitthal Temple, in front of a grocery shop owned by Nitin Gandhi.

The victim, Sharad Vilas Dhore (37), had parked his motorcycle when Akash alias Ganesh Dattu Kale (resident of Kurkundi) arrived and deliberately kicked it over. When confronted by Dhore, Kale responded by grabbing him by the collar, hurling abuses, and then attacking him with a sickle.

Dhore sustained serious injuries to his shoulder, back, and hand. The police have arrested Kale and are investigating the incident further.
