Pune University was abuzz with energy as more than 2500 women gathered to participate in the Taneira Saree Run, organized in collaboration with JJ Active.
The event, held on Sunday (September 29) morning, brought together women of all ages, draped in vibrant sarees, to celebrate strength, femininity, and fitness. This unique initiative was flagged off by Taneira’s CEO, Ambuj Narayan, and Coach Pramod from JJ Active.
The run, which blends tradition with contemporary fitness, aims to redefine the saree as more than just cultural attire. It demonstrated how the saree can serve as a graceful companion to an active lifestyle, challenging societal perceptions of traditional dress.
After successful editions in Kolkata, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, the event in Pune continued the movement, fostering a sense of community and empowering women to embrace their individuality through fashion, fitness, and freedom.
Speaking at the event, Narayan emphasized Taneira’s mission of redefining the saree as an essential part of modern living, stating, “We are passionate about showcasing the saree not just as a symbol of grace, but as a reflection of the strength and individuality of women.
Through this event, we aim to inspire women to confidently blend tradition with a dynamic, active lifestyle.”
Coach Pramod added that the Saree Run, which began in Bengaluru eight years ago, has evolved into a national movement with Taneira’s support. “This event is a celebration of women’s empowerment and inclusivity, showing that one can embrace heritage while also prioritizing well-being,” he said.
