Pune: In a tragic event, a tenth-grade student was found dead after committing suicide in his home in Kadamwakvasti on Monday (July 15) morning.

The incident occurred around 8 AM when Govind Satish Rupnavar, a 15-year-old resident of Sambhajinagar, Kadamwakvasti, hanged himself using a scarf tied to a ceiling fan.

Govind’s family had recently relocated from Latur to Kadamwakvasti, with Govind enrolling in the tenth grade at Prithviraj Kapoor Memorial High School in Loni Kalbhor.

On the evening of July 14, Govind, his mother, and his sister went to his uncle's house for dinner. After dinner, Govind left, stating he needed to study. His mother and sister returned home later but received no response when they knocked on the door. Assuming Govind was asleep, they went to a relative’s place to sleep.

The following morning, their knocks still went unanswered, prompting them to call a carpenter to break open the door, where they found Govind had taken his life.

Despite immediate efforts to take him to the hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The Loni Kalbhor Police Station was notified, and officers Ishwar Bhagat, Nitesh Punde, and Yogesh Kumbhar conducted the on-site investigation.

The family, originally from Latur, had moved to Kadamwakvasti just a month ago. Govind's father is a four-wheeler driver, supporting the family, which includes Govind's mother and sister. A case has been registered at the Loni Kalbhor Police Station.

Recently, a 14-year-old boy, Malhar Makarand Joshi, ended his life by jumping from the seventh floor of the Rose Land Society's X Wing.

Malhar, a ninth-grade student, was at home with his brother while their parents were away in Parli, Beed district. Around noon, Malhar went to a friend's house to call his mother and had a conversation with her. Shortly after, he jumped from the building.
