Pune: IAS Puja Khedkar, who used her mother's company address to obtain a disability certificate, has put the company in jeopardy.
Thermoverita Engineering Private Limited, located in Jyotiba Nagar, Talwade, within the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits, is under scrutiny for evading taxes amounting to 2.77 lakh rupees over the past two years.
The company, established in a red zone by the Khedkar family, has been declared unauthorized.
Puja Khedkar had used the address of Thermoverita Engineering Private Limited as her residence to get a disability certificate from Yashwantrao Chavan Hospital.
Consequently, PCMC is considering taking seizure action against the company. Additionally, due to its location in a red zone, the company might face demolition. This information was confirmed by Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Additional Commissioner of PCMC.
On Thursday (July 18), Puja Khedkar's mother, Manorama Khedkar, was arrested in Raigad by the Pound police. Manorama had been accused of threatening a farmer with a gun, and a case had been registered against her, leading to her fugitive status.
She was eventually found hiding in Parvati Hotel in the Hirkanwadi area of Mahad. Her husband, Dilip Khedkar, remains at large. In the same case, two bouncers and two women have also been charged.
It is alleged that Dilip Khedkar, during his tenure in 2007 as a Divisional Officer in the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board in Kolhapur, engaged in various malpractices.
Khedkar visited numerous factories, pointing out issues such as the size of chimneys or scrubbers, and then handed out his company's (Thermoverita Engineering Private Limited) business card, demanding advance payments within eight days or threatening closure.
His wife Manorama, brother-in-law, and daughter Puja Khedkar were allegedly directors of this company.
