Pune: A violent dispute between two groups in Mahadevwadi, Khadki, led to vandalism, arson, and widespread destruction of property.

The escalating tension between the groups resulted in both parties attacking each other's homes, with one house being set on fire, causing significant damage. Khadki police arrested nine individuals from the first group and 11 from the second.

The conflict began on September 16 when a dispute arose between Ganesh Salunkhe, alias "Chhota Lohar," and Hina Tayde, along with her brother Salman Sheikh.

The argument quickly escalated when, two days later, on the night of September 18, a group led by Salman Sheikh attacked the Salunkhe family. Armed with sticks and iron rods, the attackers stormed their home with the intent to kill.

According to the police report, Salman Sheikh attempted to strike Sunil Salunkhe, the head of the household, but missed, allowing the family to escape.

As the Salunkhe family fled to safety, Hina Tayde reportedly incited the attackers to burn their house down. The group then set fire to the house, reducing it to ashes and causing damage worth approximately ₹1 lakh. Nearby homes belonging to other residents were also vandalized as the attackers threatened to burn anyone who opposed them alive.

In a twist, Hina Tayde also lodged a complaint against the opposing group, accusing them of vandalism and assault. In her statement, she claimed that on September 16, Deepak Doke, Kiran Khude, and others were causing a drunken disturbance near her home.

When she and her brother asked them to stop, the situation escalated, culminating in another violent confrontation on the night of September 17. Armed with machetes and sticks, the accused entered her house, destroyed property, and threatened her life.

The attackers ransacked her house, stealing cash and jewelry, while also vandalizing her relative’s home. Tayde reported that the attackers left after issuing dire threats, claiming they were the local bosses and would not spare anyone who opposed them.
