Pune Municipal Corporation has initiated special counters in 15 ward (regional) offices to assist voters with any voting-related queries and ensure a smooth electoral process.
The aim is to address common issues, such as confusion about polling locations or absence from the voter list, which have often led citizens to skip voting.
According to Municipal Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Patil, these special counters will provide guidance and information to voters in real time.
Starting today, the counters are operational and will stay open until the polls close on election day. Voters can visit the nearest regional office or make phone calls to receive information on polling centers and related details.
The initiative seeks to reduce the widespread confusion that occurs each election day, particularly regarding the location of designated polling centers.
Frustration with the voting process has previously discouraged many from casting their ballots, and the Municipal Corporation aims to make the process simpler and more user-friendly.
Citizens can access these counters both in person and over the phone, making it easy to clarify any voting-related queries.
