Pune: A major theft involving 280 laptops worth ₹10.9 million has been uncovered at a warehouse in the Wagholi area along Nagar Road.
The accused, identified as Suresh Kumar, a worker at the warehouse, allegedly stole the laptops and is currently at large. A case has been registered at the Lonikand Police Station, and law enforcement officials are actively searching for the suspect.
The complaint was lodged by Balkrishna Sakharam Raut, a manager at Arcline Logistics and Warehouse Pvt. Ltd., where the theft occurred. Raut informed the police that Suresh Kumar, who had been employed at the warehouse for the last two months, was responsible for the theft.
The warehouse, located in Ubale Nagar, Wagholi, stores electronic products from various companies, which are distributed to stores across Pune.
The incident was discovered on Monday morning when 280 laptops were found missing from the warehouse. Upon receiving the report, Senior Police Inspector Pandit Rejitwad from Wagholi Police Station visited the site and confirmed that the police are conducting a search for the accused.
This is not the first high-profile theft in the Wagholi area. Two years ago, 200 expensive mobile phones were stolen from another prominent company's warehouse in the same vicinity.
The police, after an investigation, had arrested non-local individuals involved in that case. Authorities are now intensifying their efforts to locate Suresh Kumar and recover the stolen laptops. Further investigation is underway.
