Pune: A 19-year-old woman in Pune has accused a man of molesting her after luring her back to a salon with the promise of a discounted hair spa. The incident reportedly took place at the "Lap of Luxury" salon in Mukundnagar on Sunday (August 18) evening.
The accused, a 27-year-old man, had previously become acquainted with the woman, who was a regular customer at the salon.
According to the police report, he convinced her to return to the salon after her initial visit by offering a discount. Once inside, he allegedly took her to a secluded area under the pretense of discussing the treatment, where he inappropriately touched her and bit her against her will. The Swargate Police have registered a case of molestation, and the investigation is being led by Police Sub-Inspector Shirsat.
Man Steals ₹3 Lakh from Scooter’s Compartment
Pune police arrested a man who allegedly stole ₹3 lakh from a Vespa scooter’s storage compartment in Shukrawar Peth within a brief 15-minute window.
The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Vijay Kumar Shinde, was apprehended following an investigation triggered by a complaint filed by Nikhil Sanjay Naik. The theft occurred on August 12, in front of the Naik Ghate Architects office in Subhashnagar.
According to the police, Naik had withdrawn the cash from a bank and stored it in his scooter’s compartment before parking it outside his office. When he returned 15 minutes later, he discovered the money was missing.
The police reviewed CCTV footage from the vicinity, which led to Shinde's identification and arrest. Shinde had reportedly targeted the scooter, opened its compartment, and made off with the cash.
