Pune: In a disturbing case of cyber harassment, a kitchen worker allegedly misused a woman’s photos after a payment dispute, leading to his arrest.

The trouble began when the complainant hired two workers, Hanuman and Kailas, to complete kitchen trolley work in her apartment. According to the police, the complainant had paid ₹42,000 to them. Since the work was not completed, she withheld the remaining ₹6,000.

When Kailas completed the remaining work, the complainant was ready to pay him the remaining amount. However, Hanuman insisted that the ₹6,000 be sent to him instead. Following this, Hanuman took a photo of the complainant from her husband’s mobile phone and used it on her WhatsApp profile, with a caption reading "Full service ₹5,000 per night."

He also created a fake Instagram account under the complainant's name, writing obscene content such as "Call girl available." He then took screenshots and sent them to the complainant's husband's mobile phone and also shared them with people in their society, tarnishing her reputation.

The Hinjewadi police have registered the case and transferred it to the Mundhwa police for further investigation.
