Pune: The Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) has extended the deadline for online admissions for the academic year 2024-25.
The new deadline, now set for September 30, will give students more time to enroll in various certificate, diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs in the fields of Arts, Commerce, and Science.
The university, known for its accessible and flexible learning platforms, offers various educational programs completely free of cost. This includes 32 certificate courses, 50 diploma programs, 16 undergraduate degrees, and 33 postgraduate courses.
New additions to the curriculum this year include postgraduate programs in science and the Urdu medium, all of which have received approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Dr. Vaman Nakhale, Director of YCMOU's Mumbai Division, shared that the university aims to provide students with educational services and facilities based on the latest technology.
"From admissions to exams, all processes are conducted online, allowing students to pursue their studies at their convenience," he said. The initiative is part of the university’s push to modernize and make education more accessible to a diverse student population.
In response to growing demand from students interested in government and administrative careers, YCMOU has also introduced a postgraduate degree in Public Administration. This program is expected to attract students aiming for careers in civil services and public sector roles.
The university offers courses in Marathi, Hindi, English, and Urdu, making education accessible to students across different language preferences. With this extension in the application deadline, YCMOU hopes to enroll even more students who seek flexible and affordable education.
