The incident took place on Sunday (October 13) evening when Pankaj returned home and asked Supriya to make chili chutney. Supriya responded that she would prepare it if he brought some chilies.

This response infuriated Pankaj, leading to a physical confrontation where he slapped his wife. Their son, Aryan, attempted to mediate but was also threatened by Pankaj, who fetched a knife from the kitchen in his anger.

During the ensuing scuffle, Supriya was accidentally injured near her left eye by the knife. Following the incident, Supriya lodged a complaint at the Yerawada police station, and a case has been filed against Pankaj under relevant sections of the law. Police constable Tejpal is investigating the case.
