Pune: A tragic incident unfolded near Khadki railway station, where a 27-year-old man took his own life by jumping in front of a moving train.

The deceased, identified as Rishikesh Jayadev Mhasare, was allegedly driven to suicide following relentless harassment from five colleagues over a financial dispute.

Rishikesh, who had completed his education in pharmaceutical sciences, was employed at a local pharmacy where the accused also worked.

According to a complaint lodged by his father, Jayadev Mhasare, Rishikesh had borrowed money from his colleagues and was repaying them in installments. However, the accused began to pressure and harass him, pushing him into a state of deep depression.

On June 1, Rishikesh left his home in Kondhwa Budruk and went missing. His worried father filed a missing person report at Bibwewadi Police Station.

The situation took a tragic turn when Rishikesh was found dead near Khadki railway station, having jumped in front of a moving train. The railway police initially recorded the case as an accidental death.

The investigation took a significant turn when the railway police contacted Rishikesh’s parents, who identified the body. It was revealed that Rishikesh had sent a message to his father before taking his own life, explicitly stating that he was doing so because of the harassment he endured from the accused.

Following this revelation, a case was registered against the five individuals at Bibwewadi Police Station for abetment to suicide. Senior Police Inspector Mangal Modhve is leading the investigation.
