Youth Beaten Unconscious in Chakan Over Motorcycle Ride with Woman

The attackers, Shubham Bhagwat Pol and Pradeep Bhagwat Pol, have been charged with attempted murder by the Chakan Police.

Pune: In a disturbing incident in Chakan, a young man was brutally assaulted with a wooden stick by two individuals over the suspicion of riding a motorcycle with a woman.

The attackers, Shubham Bhagwat Pol and Pradeep Bhagwat Pol, have been charged with attempted murder by the Chakan Police.

The incident occurred in Mauje, Khed Taluka, around 12:15 AM on Monday. According to the police, Vilas Suresh Bhide was bringing his cousin's sister home on his motorcycle when they reached the Mutkewadi signal. It was there that Shubham Pol confronted Vilas, questioning, "Is she your wife? Why are you riding with her on the bike?"

Following the heated exchange, Shubham called his associate, Pradeep Pol, to the scene. Pradeep arrived with a wooden stick and struck Vilas on the head. After Vilas collapsed, Shubham grabbed the stick and struck him on the head again, leaving him unconscious. The two attackers then fled the scene on Pradeep's motorcycle.

The victim’s condition was immediately reported to the police, and a case of attempted murder has been registered against the accused. The investigation, led by Police Constable Tarpade, is currently ongoing.

In August, a man was assaulted on the road by the husband of a female friend he was helping. The incident occurred under the Kasarwadi Metro Station in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

The victim, who runs a shop dealing in old mobile phones, had agreed to drop his friend home after she called him, saying she was unwell. While they were on their way, her husband called, and she informed him about her whereabouts. The husband then asked them to stop and arrived shortly after, attacking the man with his hands and a key.
