Pune: Hadapsar-Mundhwa, Kasba-Vishrambaug and Warje-Karvenagar area have emerged as top three areas in the city with highest number of cases of the novel virus.
With Pune city witnessing a sudden spike in the spread of COVID-19, Hadapsar-Mundhwa area has reported maximum cases on Monday. The area reported 65 cases of contagion (data till February 22). Last week, Hadapsar-Kondhwa recorded 85 cases.
A datasheet released by the PMC has revealed that Hadapsar-Mundhwa area have recorded the highest number of progressive cases of COVID-19 in the city so far. The second-highest number of cases have been recorded under Kasba - Vishrambaug ward office (31) followed by Warje - Karve Nagar ward office with 30 cases.

This has once again made the administration of the civic body to thump into action to curtail the further spread of the infection in the areas. Earlier, the administration has made clear that micro-containment zones will be re-introduced in the city.
On Sunday, the administration also declared to impose curbs in the city. According to administration, travel restrictions are limited from 11 pm to 6 am where only those travelling for essential work are allowed to travel. Also, schools, colleges and coaching classes will remain shut till February 28.
Meanwhile, Pune city reported 328 new COVID-19 cases, taking its caseload to 1,98,292 on Monday while four people lost their lives to the infection. On the other side, 318 were discharged from various hospitals in the city taking the total recoveries to 1,90,560.
