In an era where creativity knows no bounds, Rishikesh Kamble, a young Rubik’s Cube prodigy from Sukhsagarnagar area of Pune city, has taken traditional celebrations to a whole new level.
This year, Rishikesh celebrated Ganeshotsav by crafting an intricate mosaic of Lord Ganesha using Rubik’s cubes, adding a colorful and modern twist to the festivities. What’s more impressive? He did it all in just five to six hours!
This isn't Rishikesh's first foray into the world of art using Rubik's cubes. He has been experimenting with cube mosaics for years, and his efforts have earned him recognition from the India Book of Records – not once, but twice.
His creations, ranging from iconic Indian personalities to beloved deities, have captured the imagination of many, with his videos going viral across social media platforms.
Rishikesh’s journey into the world of Rubik’s Cube art began during the lockdown, inspired by a boy he saw on TV solving cubes while blindfolded.
"If he can do it, so can I," he thought. In just a week, he had mastered the art of cube-solving. His father, supportive of his passion, provided him with a variety of cubes, and Rishikesh spent hours honing his skills daily, all while managing his schoolwork.
Since 2023, Rishikesh has competed in around 10 Rubik's Cube competitions, and his focus has now shifted towards creating detailed mosaic portraits.
One of his earliest creations was a birthday gift for his sister, followed by stunning portraits of figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, actor Puneeth Rajkumar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and even a mosaic of the Indian flag for Independence Day.
The recognition hasn’t stopped with national records. Rishikesh is now setting his sights on the Guinness World Records. In addition to showcasing his work online, he’s also teaching kids from across the globe, including students from the USA, Canada, and Australia, spreading his love for cubes internationally.
This Rubik's Cube maestro is clearly a star on the rise, blending art, culture, and a love for challenges, all while bringing something truly unique to the table.
