PUNE: After cafes, restaurants and bars in the city closed on Wednesday due to coronavirus scare, people are left with very few options to go to. Therefore major roads in the city such as Fergusson College Road, Jungli Maharaj Road and Tilak Road were deserted.
Restaurants on Fergusson College Road like Vaishali and Wadeshwar downed their shutters on Wednesday.
One of the busiest watering holes in Pune, Koregaon Park experienced sparse crowd as major pubs and restaurants were shut.
The streets in Kondhwa, Camp and Magarpatta were deserted.
Some eateries on Baner Road opened in the evening, but Balewadi High Street, hub of some of the finest bars and restaurants in that part of the city, saw few customers. Following a meeting between traders’ association and Pune police on March 16, a closure of shops for three days starting from Tuesday was announced.
Aniket Bansal, a student from Delhi said, “Since the last two days we have been at our home, and today we come out for a change and observed that no shops were open.”
