PUNE: Education in Ireland, a Government of Ireland brand under the authority of the Minister for Education and Skills, recently organised an education fair in Pune.
The fair was attended by around 300 students in Pune and helped students and parents to connect with representatives of leading 20 Irish higher education institutions. Students and parents discuss their queries related to admissions, programmes available, intakes, offer acceptance, campus life, international student support and more.
Education in Ireland’s Senior Education Advisor Barry O’Driscoll said, “Education in Ireland conducts these fairs as an orientation programme for keen students. Here, the prospective students get a chance to meet with experts across divisions in the education sector and provided a broader purview of the education system and career latitude in Ireland. A key advantage of studying in Ireland is that students can avail of up to two years ‘stay-back’ option after completing their course, at postgraduate level. This guarantees students the opportunity to remain in Ireland for a period of one year to seek employment in dynamic sectors such as ICT, biopharma, engineering, medical devices, food science and financial services.”
“The most popular courses in Ireland amongst Indian students have included mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, biotechnology, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity, accounting/finance and MBA. Also, there is a notably increased level of interest in courses such as media, design, arts, social sciences, and hotel management,” added O’Driscoll.
