Pune: Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Savitribai Phule Pune University has decided to conduct the exams of final year students in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). However, in a shocking incident, about 150 questions of Marathi subject are allegedly leaked on WhatsApp. Meanwhile, Pune University are verifying claims for the same.

Question papers are being prepared in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for the final year undergraduate and postgraduate examinations of Pune University. Considering the number of students, 300 questions have been framed for one subject. As the MCQs format for the examination was new to students they had asked for a set of questions. However, the university rejected it and clarified that their practice test would be conducted instead.

In security breach, what has come forward is that a professor of a reputed college in Shivajinagar area has sent some question papers of postgraduate Marathi subject to students via WhatsApp. Now, the Board of Marathi Studies has decided to omit these questions from the examination.

Dr Shirish Landage, President of the Board of Marathi Studies said, “This is wrong that some of the questions of the Marathi subject set were given to the students through WhatsApp. Those questions will be omitted from the final set of questions.”

“The professors who shared these questions on WhatsApp are not on the Marathi committee. But it will be checked whether the questions were present in the questionnaire. If these questions are found in the questionnaire, action will be taken against them,” Dr Anjali Kurne, Dean, Faculty of Anthropology informed.

Meanwhile, SPPU has announced the time table for final year examinations. The exams will be held from October 12 in offline and online mode simultaneously. The varsity will be conducting exams for about 2.50 lakh final year students from Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik districts.
