Gram Panchayat election results: Wife carries her husband on shoulders to celebrate the win

Pune: Real happiness doesn't know any boundaries of reasons, this line aptly suits for this woman when her husband won the recently concluded Gram Panchayat polls. After the win of her husband, this woman decided to take a stroll in village by carrying him on her shoulders.

As she took out the procession, a photograph of her carrying her husband made a buzz on social media.

In order to rejoice her husband’s win after defeating his close rival in the panchayat elections, the woman who goes by name Renuka Gurav carried her husband Santosh Gurav all around in their Palu village in Khed Tehsil. However, amid COVID-19 restrictions, the district administration had imposed limits that no more than five people should be permitted during the victory celebrations.

Keeping guidelines in mind, Renuka with maintaining social distance from supporters, carried her husband on her shoulders all around the village.

Santosh Gurav was triumphed after receiving 221 votes as he defeated his rival with a difference of 44 votes in Gram Panchayat polls. As per a report, he had contested the gram panchayat election on Jakhmatta Devi Gramvikaas Panel which got six seats from seven, thereby getting a big majority.

Jakhmatta Devi Gramvikaas Panel challenged panchayat polls under the leadership of Point Vikas Society Chairman Ramdas Sawant and Former Sarpanch Baban Sawant.
