PUNE: The officials from Hadapsar police station have busted a gang involved in 117 cases of thefts and robberies and recovered vehicles, ornaments worth Rs 1.19 crore.
Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Shisve told reporters on Wednesday that with the arrest of the gang members, the recent burglary at Nakoda Jewellers, Aundh, has also been solved. “We have recovered 13 four-wheelers, five two-wheelers, 38 kg silver, 1100 gram gold ornaments from the three arrested accused persons. The recovery includes 260 gm gold and 38 kg silver ornaments which were stolen from Nakoda Jewellers”, he added.
The arrested persons have been identified as Paitar Singh alias Pavitar Singh Tak (19) of Ramtekdi, Hadapsar, Nishant Anil Nanaware (22) of Tadiwala Road, Rushikesh Tanaji Atkar (20) of Vadgaon Budruk.
DCP (Zone 5) Suhas Bawache said that Tak was wanted for the last one and half year. “Acting on a tip-off, detection branch staffs of Hadapsar police station nabbed them. The accused persons are involved in several cases under the jurisdiction of Pune city, Pune rural and Pimpri-Chinchwad police.” Add CP (East region) Sunil Phulari supervised the investigation team which included senior police inspector Raghunath Jadhav,
