Pimpri: The work of Pimpri Chinchwad Regional Transport Office (RTO) has resumed after the government gave some relaxations in the Unlock 2.0. In a span of one and a half months a total Rs 18.26 crores amount has been generated by Pimpri RTO. As per the reports, the Pimpri Chinchwad Sub-Regional Transport Office from May 18 till June 30, this year has received revenue of Rs 18,26,80,186.
Speaking to Sakal Times, the Pimpri Chinchwad Sub-Regional Transport Officer Vinod Sagare said, “More than Rs 18.26 crore of amount has been generated as well as 4,750 vehicles have been registered so far.
For past three months, the Pimpri-Chinchwad RTO department has been operating partially due to the fear of pandemic. Only office pending work was given top priority. At this time, the people did not have access to vehicle registration and pass renewal.
The highest number of two-wheelers was recorded in a period of one and a half months is around 2,951. The number of four wheelers has reached 1,402. In addition, the number of vehicles like tractors (137), ambulances (2), construction equipment vehicles (12), cranes (8), Auto rickshaws (1), Multi-utility heavy vehicle (11), large vehicles (57), tempo traveller (13), three wheelers (12) and two-wheelers (139) have been registered.
RTO Sagare added, “There were many problems initially in the administrative department due to COVID-19. But now, we have overcome it and are providing facilities to the people now. We have sanitised the office as well as followed the Central Government Health guidelines related to this pandemic. Citizens are also urged to wear masks and gloves at a safe distance when they are walking inside our office premises.”
