Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued guidelines for coaching classes and training centres in the city, which have been permitted to resume operations for students above class 9 from Tuesday (January 12). The guidelines state that conducting thermal screening of students entering the institute and RTPCR test report of teachers is mandatory.

However, the PMC has not mentioned the strength of students which is permitted. The guidelines only mention that adequate physical distancing should be maintained between the students.

Guidelines:

· Arrangement should be made by the institute to conduct thermal screening of students at the entry points

· RTPCR tests of all teachers and staff at the institute should be conducted

· Sanitisers should be made available at the entrance and inside the classrooms for the students and teachers

· Adequate social distancing should be maintained between students

The private coaching classes were shut down since March 18, 2020 after the COVID19 outbreak started in the city. Owners and operators of these classes were demanding that the government should allow them to resume their services, especially when the schools and also theatres, hotels and other commercial establishments were allowed to reopen.
