Pune: Deputy CM Ajit Pawar inaugurates 'Smart Policing' initiative of Pune Rural Police

Pune: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar inaugurated the 'Smart Policing' initiative of Pune Rural Police and expressed confidence that this initiative will be useful to make the police administration more people-oriented.

Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) Commissioner Suhas Divase, Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural) Sandeep Patil, Resident Deputy Collector Dr Jayashree Katare along with other senior officers of the police department were present at the event.

The Union Home Ministry has announced the President's Police Medal, Police Valour Medal and Police Medal for police officers and personnel in the state police force. Pawar congratulated all these officers and the staff on this occasion.

Pawar said, "For the betterment of the society, the police fought against the 'coronavirus' during the Covid-19 outbreak period. During the Covid-19 crisis, police were working hard on the streets. Support from the police family during this crisis period is very significant. I thank them from the bottom of my heart. We will definitely win this battle against Covid-19."

Pawar further added that "The smart policing initiative being implemented by the Pune Rural Police Department is definitely useful. The smart policing initiative will lead to more and more use of modern technology in the police force. A quick response in an emergency will help the police force to be more vigilant. He said the district would provide funds from the annual plan for modernization of police stations."

Superintendent of Police Sandeep Patil said, "Smart policing initiatives are being implemented to synchronise the working of all police stations. Women Safety Committees have been set up in all villages to address women's issues."

On this occasion, Pawar felicitated the best performing police officers and staff. Sejal Ruplag and Sameer Ruplag of Sore Group were felicitated at this occasion. Baramati Sub Divisional Police Officer Milind Mohite gave the vote of thanks.
