Pune: Eleven Mathematics teachers from Pune district have obtained the State Level Expert Guide online 'Master Trainer Degree' of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay based at Powai.
Maharashtra State Council for Educational Research and Training (Vidya Pradhikaran) Pune and IIT Mumbai and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) had jointly selected 323 Secondary Mathematics teachers from 36 districts of Maharashtra under the 'Quality Improvement in Maths Education' Project. They were trained for a duration of two years by an expert mentor in the mathematics department of the leading institute, IIT Bombay. Training of these teachers included math subject component creation, teaching methods, use of Geogebra, production of educational e-literature, video presentation, etc.
At the end of the training, in July 2020, all the trainees for Master Trainer Certification were examined and were given the degree of State Level Expert Guide (Master Trainer). It includes 11 mathematics teachers from Pune district. All these expert mentor professors were from IITs. Graduation ceremony of Master Trainer was held online under the guidance of Professor Inder K. Rana.
