Pune: Department of Technical Education (DTE) has announced the timetable of admission of postgraduate diploma courses in Pharmacology, Hotel Management, Food and Beverage Technology, Surface Coating Technology courses along with polytechnic first-year diploma engineering courses after Class 10 exams. The admission process will start from August 10 (Monday), DTE has said.
State's Higher Education Minister Uday Samant has made it clear that first-year diploma engineering admission will start from August 10 (Monday). Following this announcement by Minister Samant, the DTE announced the timetable for the admission procedure for postgraduate and first-year engineering diploma courses. Admission forms will be available from August 10 to 15.
While applying for postgraduate diploma courses and polytechnic institutes, students from the open category will have to pay a fee of Rs 400, while students from the backward class category will have to pay Rs 300. Students from the backward class category should have a non-creamy layer certificate which is valid up to March 31, 2021. Those students who do not have this valid non-creamy layer certificate will not be able to claim admission from the reserved category, said Dr Abhay Wagh, Director, Technical Education.
DTE has also given instructions to all polytechnic colleges and institutions to start a facilitation centre to help students with admissions and to follow safety guidelines for COVID-19 during the admission process. All polytechnic colleges and engineering institution directors have also been asked to review arrangements regarding manpower, computers and other technical arrangements required for smooth facilitation of the admission process.
Students can verify their documents through an online facility after they register and fill forms for admission to diploma courses. Those students who can't upload their documents online, can visit the nearest facilitation centre and upload it. To avoid unnecessary crowding of students at these facilitation centres, students will be given a fixed day and time slot.
