Pune: Known to start his day in the wee hours – be it the oath taking ceremony or metro project review or any meeting of government officials – Deputy Chief Minister of the state and Guardian Minister of Pune District Ajit Pawar is always on his toes. But this senior leader from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is missing in action since Thursday (October 22) morning. Sources say that after the flood-relief tour of Solapur district three days back, Ajit Pawar was feeling ‘tired’ and hence his Covid-19 test was conducted.
Even though the result of the Covid-19 test has come negative, Ajit Pawar has now isolated himself. He has also cancelled all meetings and functions to be attended. A letter from NCP was published on the official twitter handle of the party saying that the party leader is unable to meet party workers and office bearers on Thursday morning 8am to 12 noon in the Mumbai office due to some ‘unavoidable’ reasons.
The janata durbar organised in the NCP office has also been cancelled. However, sources say that Ajit Pawar will attend a meeting with senior NCP leaders through video conferencing on Thursday afternoon.
