Pune: The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has got an officer of the London-based agency to land in its campus to ensure that the online final year examinations are conducted smoothly hereafter. Hundreds of students are facing technical problems while appearing for the examination which started on October 12 and hence SPPU administration swung into action, coordinated with the London-based officials of the agency and asked their officer to fly down to Pune for the course of the examination.
The London-based agency was apprised of the technical problems being faced by the students in the last 10 days. The server of the agency crashed for two consecutive days which led to severe criticism of the handling of online final year examination by the SPPU. As a result, SPPU officials contacted the London-based officials of the agency and discussed this issue with them. The agency was requested to solve this issue on an urgent basis and depute someone to look into this matter.
The agency has now assured that all minor and major complaints received from SPPU will be addressed by the agency on priority basis. For this, the agency has deputed one of its officials from Delhi to Pune till the examinations are over.
The agency has now cleared all junk files from its server. The agency has also distributed the load over its server by increasing the timing for slot allocation. As a result, even if more students log in at their allocated time slots, they will have a smooth experience as far as technical aspects are concerned.
Mahesh Kakade, Director of Examination Board of SPPU told media persons that the agency officer will stay put in Pune during the course of the examinations. The officer will keep a watch on the functioning of the system and ensure that no technical problems are faced by students.
