PUNE: A research assistant of the Directorate of Education (Primary) was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from chairperson of a school for sending a favourable report about enquiry for cancellation of Right to Education (RTE) recognition.
After receiving a complaint from the school president, the sleuths from the Pune unit of the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) laid a trap on Wednesday and caught the accused Nizam Haji Nanhumiya Shaikh (36), at the Central Building near Sassoon Hospital.
ACB officials said that the school administration had taken action against a teacher who filed a complaint with the directorate for de-recognition of the school.
Now, an FIR has been registered with Bund Garden police station against the accused research assistant for offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
