Pune: Two Pune-based students, Shwetark Kulkarni (13) and Shubham Kumbhar (15) will be representing India after winning the Microsoft and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Championship in Florida, the USA on August 7.

Both students stood first in the Microsoft and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) competition which was held in Bengaluru from June 8 to 9. Kulkarni stood first in ICT Junior India Championship in PowerPoint 2013 whereas Kumbhar stood first in Microsoft Office Specialist India Championship in PowerPoint 2013.

Speaking to Sakal Times, Kulkarni said, “I was interested in PowerPoint from past three to four years. I participated in this competition last year and got the fourth rank. So this year I solved many mock test papers which helped me in time management.”

Kumbhar said, “From Std V onwards, I started having interests in computers and PowerPoint. The G metrix program allows you to practice taking Microsoft Office Specialist certification exams because of which I scored full marks in just 16 minutes. It took me six to seven months of practice for Microsoft Office Specialist. Apart from computers, I am an athlete and planning to take science in Junior College.”
