Pune: Builder Rajesh Kanabar (63) was murdered by four suspects on Monday afternoon in front of the SBI treasury branch in Camp. Police investigations into the case has revealed important information about the motive behind the murder.

The 63-year-old from Ghorpadi had a dispute regarding a 10-acre land plot in Bavdhan with the suspects. A hearing was underway regarding the dispute at the District Collector office after which the suspects fired shots at Kanabar on Monday afternoon.

Kanabar had reached the District Collector office for the same on Monday. His driver had parked the car near the SBI Treasury branch located just near the District Collector office on the road leading towards Pune Police Commissionerate. After the hearing was over, Kanabar was walking towards his car. While he was about to enter his car, the assailants shot rounds at Kanabar. Upon receiving information of the shootout, police rushed to the spot.

Police have arrested four suspects in the murder case of builder Rajesh Haridas Kanabar (63). Kanabar was murdered by the suspects a few hundred metres away from the Pune Police Commissionerate.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Rahul Kamble, Rupesh Kamble, Ganesh Gurhe and Hasmukh Patel. Hasmukh Patel was the one who fired shots on builder Rajesh Kanabar. The four suspects will be produced in the Shivajinagar court on Wednesday afternoon. Vishwas Gangawane (32) has filed a complaint in this regard at the Bund Garden police station.

The three suspects Rahul Kamble, Rupesh Kamble and Ganesh Gurhe were immediately apprehended but Hasmukh Patel was absconding. He was nabbed on Wednesday morning. Bund Garden police are probing the case.
