Pune: The Indian Cricket Team reached Pune on Sunday ahead of the three-match One-Day-International series against England. The hosts had won the five-match T20I series with a 36-run win over the visitors in the decider held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday uploaded a short video on micro-blogging website Twitter featuring snippets from the airport. "Hello Pune, we're here," BCCI captioned the video. Members of the Indian squad also posted photographs on social media while travelling from Ahmedabad to Pune.
Also, India skipper Virat Kohli along with his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika were spotted at Pune Airport on Sunday.
Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya were among Indian cricketers who shared images on social media while travelling to Pune.
The three ODI matches are scheduled to be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium (MCA Stadium) in Gahunje starting from Tuesday behind the closed doors. Amid the rising cases of COVID-19, the government has banned fans to witness the live action from the stadium.
Meanwhile, India has named an 18-member squad for the ODI series, including debutants Krunal Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Prasidh Krishna. India clinched the Test series 3-1 after losing the opening game in Chennai and also won the T20 series. Team India under Virat Kohli will eye on whitewash with ODI series to begin from Tuesday.
On the other side, English pacer Jofra Archer and batsman Joe Root will not play ODI series against India.
