Tennis star Serena Williams on Thursday got emotional, breaking into tears during a press conference after losing her women's semi-final match against Japan's Naomi Osaka on day eleven of the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne.

The 23-time Grand Slam Champion was eyeing her record 24th Grand Slam singles title. However, Osaka defeated her 6-3, 6-4 in the semifinal game.

"The difference today was errors. I made so many errors," said the 39-year-old veteran.

On being asked what caused so many errors, Williams broke into tears. I don't know. I'm done," she told reporters as she walked out of the press conference.

Naomi Osaka, who also beat Williams in the chaotic 2018 U.S. Open final, reached her fourth major title match and stretched her winning streak to 20 matches.

The No. 3-seeded Osaka will meet the Jennifer Brady of the United States in the Australia Open final on Saturday.
