Trinbago Knight Riders routed St Lucia Zouks by 8 wickets to clinch the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title on Thursday. With this win, TKR created history— they have completed the tournament without having lost a single match.

Kieron Pollard leading from the front bagged 4 wickets to restrict St Lucia Zouks to a score of 154. Andre Fletcher top-scored for the Zouks with 39 runs with Fawad Ahmed bagging 2 wickets for TKR.

The total was made easy by Lendl Simmons and Darren Bravo as they hit a 138-run partnership to take the Knight Riders to an eight-wicket victory in the final. Simmons top-scored with 84 runs while 58 came from Bravo.

Meanwhile, Bollywood actor and co-owner Shah Rukh Khan was delighted after his CPL franchise won the title.

Shah Rukh Khan went wild as soon as Darren Bravo smashed the winning boundary and came up with an elated tweet.

"Ami TKR we rule. Awesome display boys...u make us proud, happy and make our party even without a crowd. Love u team. @TKRiders @54simmo and my fav @DMBravo46 well done @KieronPollard55 & my man @DJBravo47 love you how many now4!!! @Bazmccullum come to IPL lov u," SRK's tweet read.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak pandemic, this year’s CPL 2020 was being played in empty stadiums across two venues in Trinidad and Tobago in a bio-secure environment.
