Team Indian returned to the country on Thursday after their historic test series victory against Australia. Stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane received a grand welcome at his home in Prabhadevi, Mumbai.
Skipper Ajinkya Rahane, coach Ravi Shastri, star batsman Rohit Sharma, pacer Shardul Thakur, and opener Prithvi Shaw landed in Mumbai, while wicketkeeper Rishab Pant arrived in Delhi on Thursday. Rahane, Shastri, Rohit, Shardul, and Shaw were felicitated by Mumbai Cricket Association officials on their arrival at Mumbai airport.
Tamil Nadu pacer T Natarajan landed in Bengaluru and will be traveling to his village in Tamil Nadu’s Salem. Senior player Ravichandran Ashwin, rookie Washington Sundar, and bowling coach Bharat Arun are expected to reach on Friday.
Earlier, the Indian team defeated Australia by three wickets in the final test match at the Gabba in Brisbane to clinch Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1.
